Roulette is one of the most popular online table games. It is played for centuries now and the basics are still the same as they were from the beginning at 1769. The game is developed in France and from there it spread across Europe and America. The aim of the game is very simple but the different betting options make it a very exciting game.

Layout of the Roulette table

Roulette is a so called table game. The game consist of two parts; the layout and the roulette wheel. The wheel which is placed on top of the table and has several pockets. Each of the pockets has its own number. It depends on the type of roulette how many pockets there are on the wheel, this can be either 37 or 38 pockets. The inside of the wheel which is the part with the numbers on it can spin.
The layout contains the same numbers as the wheel in a certain table format. There are also some other betting options on the layout like betting on red or black.
The numbers on the wheel and the layout are all colored black and red except for the zero and sometimes the double zero, these are colored green.
There is also a small ball involved in the game which is very important. This ball is spun inside the wheel. The pocket in which the ball lands is the outcome of the game round.
Online casinos often have a different background for example a green velvet or a purple velvet but this is of no influence on the game.

Rules in short

The aim of Roulette is very simple; to bet on the right number or numbers. The game starts with all players placing a bet. In an online casino you are usually the only player at the table. You have several betting options which are divided in two sections; the inside bets and the outside bets. The inside bets are directly related to the numbers on the wheel. You can bet on one number at the time or on more numbers, just what you want.

French Roulette: French roulette looks a lot like European roulette. There is also just one zero and the numbers are placed randomly at the wheel. The only big difference is the layout on the table. French roulette has an extra betting field called Announced bets or Call bets. In this field you can make bets that are related to the numbers on the wheel.
Live roulette: Live roulette is an extra challenge as you are in contact with a real dealer via your internet connection. Live roulette will give you the feeling of actually being in a land based casino and in a way you are. You can see the table and can follow every action of the dealer.
