Caribbean Drawpoker
Caribbean Drawpoker is actually a derivative from Studpoker. When you never ever played one of these before it can be wise to start with Caribbean Draw poker. This version allows you to draw extra cards and can look a little more complex but in fact it is slightly easier as one of the strategies is to never fold. We will explain this popular and fun game right here.
How To Play Caribbean Drawpoker
The goal of Caribbean drawpoker is like studpoker to get a higher ranked poker hand then the dealer.
The game will start with you placing your first bet which is also called ante. In an online casino you are often the only player against the dealer. In the case you are playing an online tournament of Caribbean Drawpoker there are of course other players involved. In that case it is just a matter of every player taking its turn.
After the ante the dealer will deal the cards, you will receive 5 cards face up. The dealer will deal himself 4 cards face down and one card face up. You can now choose to fold or call. To call you can select up to two cards to draw which also means that you have to discard up to two cards. The dealer will also draw up to two cards. There is one specific rule at caribbean drawpoker and that is that the dealer must have a pair of 8′s to qualify and continue the game. In the case the dealer does not have a pair of 8′s you will automatically win even money on your ante bet. If the dealer does qualify your hand and the hand of the dealer will be compared to each other and the highest hand will win.
In an online casino it is very easy to play caribbean drawpoker. You will see a few different buttons on your screen like ‘Rebet’, ‘Deal’, ‘Fold’, ‘Bet’ etc. Just click the button of what you want to do. In the case you win your winnings will automatically be added to your casino account.
Progressive jackpot
At caribbean drawpoker you can make an additional bet with which you can win an amazing progressive jackpot. This is a jackpot that will grow with each bet a player makes. When a player has the right combination that will trigger the jackpot he/she will win. There is often a separate button in your screen to bet on the progressive jackpot. You can win the progressive jackpot by a certain rank of your poker hand, this is usually a Royal Flush. For more information about hand rankings please visit the page Studpoker.
Strategy
The first choice you have to make at Caribbean Drawpoker is whether to fold your hand or not. In studpoker this can be a though decision as there are many close calls in that game. With Caribbean drawpoker this decision is actually very simple; never fold! Not even when your hand looks very poor. Why? Well the dealer will need a pair of 8′s and half of the time he will not have that. This will make your odds on winning too good to fold your first hand.
The second choice you have to make is when you draw and how many cards you should draw. There is a very complex strategy for this which requires you to memorize a vast number of situations and rules and of course the exceptions on those rules. But fortunately there is also a more simplified strategy that will bring you very close to the optimal strategy. It is very simple, just look up the hand that you have and follow the given instructions.
